“Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving”.
The December 2023 Highland Area Annual Meeting resolved that a SACCO should be created for the youths in this area to start saving money.
On behalf of the committee we developed 3 saving schemes.
1. Save for an Event
2. ?Target Saving
3. ?Saving for profit.
Saving for an Event ensures that more youths attend youth ministry events like camporees, camp outs etc, by encouraging them to start saving and not entirely depend on their parents or guardians.
Target Saving ensures that youths set targets like buying of uniform, patches etc and saves to purchase them. The need for uniform is appalling as most of the youths even the leaders inclusive cannot afford.
Saving for profit guarantees that youths who need support in projects borrow from the SACCO and work towards self-sustenance.
